I eat them raw all the time

in case you wonder what i talk about with my friends at 4:30 in the morning, i offer this exclusive glimpse:

04:26 < phik> green beans are string beans which have been genetically purified through years of hard breeding 04:26 < phik> that is not the same. 04:26 < boc> sounds the same to me 04:26 < boc> anyway 04:26 < boc> it's not like there is some other bean 04:26 < boc> that i haven't eaten 04:26 < boc> that is really totally different 04:26 < phik> no, they are not really totally different, that is true 04:26 < phik> I will confess that they are not nearly as different as I thought 04:26 < boc> yeah 04:27 < boc> i will confess they are more different than i thought 04:27 < boc> but i think i am essentially more correct 04:27 < phik> I think that, in a game of inches, that is true. 04:27 < phik> this truly is a game of inches 04:27 < boc> you won't go to the store 04:27 < boc> and see green beans sitting next to string beans 04:27 < boc> and have to decide between them 04:27 < phik> you won't go to the store and ever see string beans ever again, I wager

phoney? i have a question.

in preparation for going to sleep, i was playing around with google. first, i found an article i didn't write about kosher-for-passover beer.

the second thing i found was that if you google for Jennifer Garner, then click on Similar Pages, it links here. I have no idea why, unless joe has a hidden jennifer garner fan site that i haven't stumbled upon yet.

we are all cup crazy.

the playoff games last week were great; good to see the bruins win some games! i don't think i'll be able to go another playoff without getting tickets again; it's so much fun to go to all the games. i might even end up getting season tickets.

saturday we played hockey in sommerville. phik high-sticked me, but otherwise it was fun. nat scored a goal or two. joe is dropping hints that he wants goalie pads for his birthday.

welcome to the jungle

this is a boring entry. my life is boring. except for hockey. after last night's game i don't really want to talk about that.

the past couple of weeks at work have been spent largely fighting the 2.4 and 2.6 kernel build systems. while challenging, it hasn't been all that fun or rewarding. but i kind of like what i've ended up with.

i'm editing this on my new 2.6-testing box (in Lustre, of course), and previewing it served from a 2.4 client. so far, so good.

i also am in the process of setting up a second OSS (the type of node that actually stores data on it). i have to do some hard-drive super-swap before that plan can go into action, though.

in keeping with the cookie theme, these two boxes are called verona and brussels, respectively. last night i thought it was funny that i name boxes after cookies which are named after cities which are themselves probably named after something else.

i went shopping with phil the other day. he got a label-maker and a new cordless landline phone. i got a garbage can, a paper shredder, and some metal shelving for the computers.

who came up with this new modprobe? ugh.

do not play multiplayer SC:PT against joe. when your contact lens gets dry and falls out, he will shoot you.
