i can't believe how bad the weather is. i expect 40s and raining in april or november, but not in june. i know it's not june but it is in my heart. i was going to defy the weather and go run anyway, but i didn't know it was raining so hard. i am going to miss the little park where i run. hopefully phil's house will be near a park or something. does iowa even have parks?
phil and i have spent way too many hours today trying to set up a wan lustre thing. i think he said it'd be the first. i hope openvpn works without too much hassle. the weather has not helped the mood. every time phik curses and then disappears from irc for ten minutes i worry. i think i am going to get that guy a webcam for his birthday, so i can check up on him and make sure he's ok.
i think it was yesterday that i made a playlist in iTunes of stuff that hasn't recently played. just came on and i had forgotten how great of a song it was, so i played all of the bends then ok computer then etc. etc. i remember when i was first listening to the bends it was v. warm and is it ever not that now.
i like to think that i know what i am doing with computers. well, at least using other people's software on linux. and yet, it is amazing how long it takes to get stuff working.
in any case, phil was able to mount the lustre volume here from his apartment. also, i could mount lustre-over-samba on my mac:
