February 1, 2000

Worked deep into the night. The bed is probably a bit much, I could get away with the little drawer things the astronauts use.

Hacked on spidermonkey all day. It is looking good. Burned a CD of it too.

February 2, 2000

My schedule is becoming more and more odd. I have this 42 hours-per-day thing going now, and it is just odd.

February 3, 2000

Well this morning, I thought it was somewhere between 2 and 4 AM. I looked at my clock and it was 7:30 AM. Where does the time go? Since Miguel is in Paris, we figured we would get away with not going to the IHOP. So Ettore, Chris, and I hopped on the T heading for Deli Haus. Well, it turns out that they don't open until 9 AM, so we went to IHOP. Miguel is going to laugh very hard at this story.

Well, the heat doesn't work again. Which sucks, cause this Boston place has been pretty cold.

Still no DSL.

February 4, 2000

Someone is here to fix the heat. It is cold. So very cold.

February 5, 2000

Slept for 13 hours last night. That is the most I have slept for a month or so.

The heat did get fixed. I think it keeps breaking cause some crazy Mexican keeps turning it up all the way

The other dudes went skiing. Apparently mig doesn't know how to spell 'ski'. Poor dude.

Nat didn't want me to work today, so I did some ircing and made save-session have some dialogs.

At some point during the week my mother sent me some delicious cookies. It is too bad I am a horrible son and did not mail her back thanking her until very late today.

Dinner was at the galleria place with Ettore, Mig, and DV of libxml and rpmfind.net fame. I am too lazy to put links in the last sentence. Oh, I ate some burger king chicken sandwich thing.

February 6, 2000

Long, depressing discussion with Miguel on the state of UNIX packaging. Sigh.

Miguel is now listening to some spanish music and making his chicken noises. Too bad Bertrand isn't here to join in with some "rhon rhon" action. Apparently he does not do this in the France.

I very much do like my scrolly-cordless mouse.

February 7, 2000

Was supposed to go to the Marriott for breakfast with Mig at 7:45, but didn't make it to the office until 8:15, so he left.

Evidently, Miguel had some issues with oF <-> C conversion, and was indeed turning the heat way up.

Nat had us all go to an italian place for lunch. All i had was some watered down coke.

Went to a bike store to look at bikes. Mountain bikes are pretty weird. Anyway, I think I'll be getting a Gary Fisher Aquila.

Weekly Helix meeting. The NYC convention thing seemed to have lots of people running GNOME, whilst Paris did not.

Redoing some spidermonkey stuff

Dinner was McDonald's. This wasn't such a good day for me and food.

February 8, 2000

Was again supposed to meet mig for some Marriott breakfast action. This time didn't make it to the office until around 3.

Added some stuff to spidermonkey

Took mig's old dell and put turbolinux on it. Started to get spidermonkey up on it.

Put the order in for the bike.

raph is now visiting the sweatshop

tigert arrived from .fi. He took the turbolinux machine.

More machines have been ordered :)

Dinner with tigert, mig, harold, and matt at the IHOP. I wonder if the waitresses know us yet.

Back to the sweatshop for more spidermonkey action

February 9, 2000

Picked up my bike, and made it back to the office without getting lost.

Dinner was at Deli Haus sans mig. I was in the mood for some potatoes, and got some.

Not particularly in the mood for the conversation on alpha channel composition what not that occurred at dinner

After dinner went to the Cave for some Mario Kart action. Ended up watching Brazil which i didn't particularly care for.

The T started up so I got back to the office and rode back home and was in bed by 7 AM.

February 10, 2000

Definitely did not make it to Marriott breakfast.

Worked on SuSE spidermonkey stuff.

February 11, 2000

McDonald's around 3 AM with Nat. We ordered 3 sausage mcmuffins w/egg, a coke, and an OJ. We recieved 3 sausage mcmuffins, 4 apple pies, and an OJ. I did not complain.

Discovered the goodness that isgnome-ihop

Mad sweatshop hacking action.

Stayed up until Marriott time with Mig, Ettore, and a friend of Mig's from .mx. I had some bacon and what not.

Promptly returned to the apartment and went to sleep

Woke up at 8 PM, went to the sweatshop. Started reading mail and then it was movie night.

Tonight's movie was 'Topsy Turvy' which I know nothing about, since we went to 'Titus' instead. I didn't know it was Shakespeare for a long time, so had some trouble following it. Evidently the situation is much worse if you are a Mexican.

Basically, the movie can be summed up as 'It sucks to be a Roman'.

February 12, 2000

After the movie, Mig, Federico, a friend of Mig's and I headed to Deli Haus. We got some ass-treatment there, so IHOP action ensued.

I had the 'Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n' Fruity' meal.

Learned that asking police officers if they had any crack is a bad idea, and one should avoid this situation.

IHOP was a very popular place tonight, as the bars/clubs were getting out. Much different crowd than the one we see when going there at 7 in the AM

Went to the Cave where we watched Army of Darkness, and 12 Monkeys.

T'd back to the sweatshop.

Bought "Paul's Boutique", "Help!", and "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band".

Released "Tasty Yellow Banana"

After a day at work, I was ready to go get some sleep. Nat apparently had other plans so we went to eat at Charlie's Kitchen (since Miguel wasn't with us) and then to Axis.

February 13, 2000

Since I don't dance, perhaps going to a dance club was not the best way for me to have fun. Anyway, I stood against the wall wondering how odd people are. I was glad to hear the version of "Body Movin'" from the video, as I hadn't heard it for a year or so. Miguel and Nat did not think I had a good time.

Finally slept after something like 40 hours of uptime.

Mad 16 hour sleeping spree

Back to the office at 9 PM, listened to Sgt. P all night

February 14, 2000

Decided to finally get developer docs for the panel going, so I spent too much time on this.

The panel now has some user docs too.

Went to Cafe Algiers with Nat, only to find a closed kitchen. Right after I sold away my Legal Chowder

Wow, is that all I did today?

* * *

February 15, 2000

Doc work cont'd.

Slept from 5 AM to 5 PM

Cleaned up some doc issues.

* * *

February 16, 2000

Got the panel docs onto developer.gnome.org.

Made a snapshot tarball for the GUADEC CD.

Slept from 12 -> 7

Had a dream where I got Scheherazade from the library (in CLE). It made me kinda depressed when I woke up, cause I missed playing music and Chautauqua and stuff.

More sgt. p listening. I decided I wanted to hear "within you without you" at the same time as "a day in the life". So i ripped one and played the other from the CD. It was pretty fun.

Still no DSL. Now we can't even ping the RTU from outside. Someone at harvardnet is eating all of our packets.

* * *

February 17, 2000

Here is some mtr action of our internet. This has been going on all night.

Huh. What do you know. Whilst typing this, the DSL started working.

* * *

February 24, 2000

So I am still alive. Just been very very busy. I am going to go sleep now.

* * *

February 25, 2000

Woke up around 4 AM. Evidently I had a dream where I was asleep for over a month. I missed my birthday and had the chicken pox during that period. Fortunately, it was only a dream, so I headed off to work.

Worked on spidermonkey for caldera. Evidently the SuSE work I did last week broke all of caldera stuff. Sigh. That was not fun. Hopefully howlermonkey will fix a lot of this stuff.

Bought myself a laptop. It was a battle getting Linux on there, but I won and now have a nice little potato system to read mail on.
